FISH!!!

It took me a while before I could get permission to hang out with my friends on sunday. It started out stressful since I overslept for some reason. Good thing I was able to get there in time. We spent a long while on the road since our destination wasnt near at all. We got there and I met Tina after a long while. I miss her the most since shes the hardest to get to these days... We went to their fishpen and managed to land ourselves a slithery prey. A hearty lunch and dozens of conversation topics later, we were off. We also visited Jungshin's fishpen, which had more fish. After a long while of fishing for the boys and just chillin' for the girls, off we went in search of dry land. The winds and waves were picking up and there was a slight drizzle so we had to double time to shore. We took a short rest at Tina's house then off we went to Morong. Uchi's dad had a former officemate who lived there. We had a quick dinner and started on our journey back home. I had so much fun, I had enough enery to last me the next day at the office!

first day at work

I was excited. Now, I'm finally getting a taste of the real world. My first real job. It was overwhelming to think about, but I'm getting old fast and I couldnt be a bum forever... Not that it was that bad... I woke up my mother so she could drive me (I cant take my own since 1 car was coding). I got there with 10 minutes to spare. I was briefed along with other newly hired and contractual ladies and 2 guys. The HR person explained several things, just so we know. We headed off to our respective divisions and it was a little unnerving. I met my new boss and she's really nice. We have the same birthdate and both under the year of the DOG. Isnt that weird? I'm still learning ropes as of now but I'm getting the hang of it. I wont get my own PC until next year, but when my boss isnt around, I can use hers.. So its good.. We got adequate internet connection... We also have a landline which I can use to call Uchi if my boss isnt around... The office is a little noisy since its right beside the runway... but I'm used to it, afterall, I live inside an airforce base... Plane engines are like lullabys to us i guess.. Now I've got work, I have my own funds.. Maybe we can go norebang sometime soon. I miss that!

Stroke of bad luck

I haven't had any sleep yet. I was tired but I sorta wanted to see my dad before he went to Mindanao to work. He left at 0400h like he was supposed to but he came back. Apparently, Cebu Pacific has been having this delayed thing for some time now, chipping their 95% on-time flights record. My mother was so tired that she asked me to drive the car back, after my dad gets off. As I was headed back home, this tricycle driver was in front of me and wouldnt give way, even though he was super slow. It was a three-lane-one-way street. He was in the middle, so us cars, were passing him from the left and right. I chose to overtake from the right side, since the road was bumpier in the middle and the left side. I was parallel to him when he suddenly hit my side. I abruptly stopped for I knew it wasnt just a scrape. True enough, his vehicle was actually able to create a whole on my side door... and scrape along it. There was about a 12-inch scratch on my side door and about a 4-inch scratch near the doorknob of the driver's door. The guy stopped only after his passengers complained that he hit my car. He signalled and left. I was like "What the f*** is he escaping?" but I managed to get the tricycle's number. T431. The creep isnt getting away. None of that was needed though, for the guy returned and tried to tell me that it wasnt anyone's fault. "We didn't want to hit each other""I wasnt in a hurry""You werent in a hurry""It was a mistake""We both made mistakes""You tried to take my lane""I'm gonna go since this wasnt anyone's fault" To hell if I didnt make him pay! He wasnt even a tricycle driver to begin with! The tricycle wasnt even his property. He just borrowed it and he didnt even live in Villamor. He was stationed in Cebu... Damn it all, he wasnt supposed to drive for he wasnt a registered tricycle driver. And now he's going to leave because it was nobody's fault? I got his name and such, he tried to leave again. I insisted we get a report. I tried telling my dad but he was already on the plane to I just sent him a text message. I told my mom and she told me to wait for my dad's soldier, who would help me handle the matter. When we got to the barangay hall, the tricycle driver told his end of the story, but altered it a little, stating he does not remember what happened. The barangay captain said we should settle since no witnesses would come forward. It happened a little before 0600h. I just looked at the guy and waited. After a while, he said he would pay for half of the damages caused to my vehicle. My dad's soldier arrived and it was agreed that we would have it estimated first. I was so tired and lacked so much sleep I didnt know what to do anymore. I was grumpy and really groggy I could hardly keep my eyes open. I thought I would just fall down due to lack of sleep for it was already 1130 am of Monday and I have been awake since 0600h of Sunday. I've been awake for more than 30 hours and I stayed up late the last Saturday as well, so I really needed to get some sleep. The damages were estimated at 1500k. My dad was furious and somehow, the guy agreed to pay for half. I was really annoyed with him at that point. We went to the police station to get a police report. When the policeman asked him what happened. He said he hit my car. There you have it folks, he admitted it. HE HIT ME. The police report was filed and went home. I didnt bother changing, I went straight to sleep only to be awakened 6 hours later. Why you ask? They woke me up because they thought I was oversleeping... T.T

The journey

Tina: Can you come to my place Saturday?
hyeji: I don't know... I'll ask... *after asking* Oh.. I'm sorry unnie.. my dad says I cant drive up there to see your house...
Tina: Really? That's too bad. Next time then...
Uchi: So? Are we going to Laguna?
hyeji: I wasn't allowed. My dad says I dont have a driver and its too far for me to go on my own.
Uchi: What if we pick you up and drive you?
hyeji: I'll ask... *after asking and begging* He said yes! We can go!
Uchi: Great, I'll see you Saturday morning!
hyeji: See ya!
We met up at my house. At around 0830h, we were on our way to the meeting place. As it turns out, Tina was running late, so Jollibee would be our temporary destination. It was near and I think Ia (or Ela, I dont remember...) was hungry. I didnt have breakfast, so I had something light. Tina and Bini arrived after a while and we were on our way but not before Bini started calling Uchi 'manang' and the smoking break. It was a little confusing at first, but we had Tina in the car to be our guide. Traffic picked up and we had to sort of fight our way through while trying to memorize landmarks or something for our solo journey home later. We went to the fishpen first. We got on this boat (the boat is motorized) and headed off as soon as Mr. Park Jungshin arrived. Tina's 'crew' showed us some of the fingerlings when they were being fed. They had houses on stilts or something, but it was quite sturdy. They had all those primary needs as well. To top it all off, they had animals! They had two dogs, a brown fat fluffy one and a white cat/dog looking one. Both dogs were really young and were just a little bigger than my hands. Next we were off to see Mr. Park Jungshin's fishpen which was bigger (?) than Tina's. They also had animals there, including a rooster. Go figure. Mr. Park let us feed the fish. I was sorta thinking we might have overfed the fish... In both pens, Bini was desperately trying to fish but to no avail. We tried using a net to catch the fish but I guess they knew we were after them so nobody bought our bait.. Too bad.. After a while, they decided we've seen our fill of the fish, enjoyed to our heart's content and have been baked long enough under the sun and announced it was time for lunch. We took the boat back to the port and went to see Tina's house for the first time. There, we saw Theresa, the new helper, her tiny kittens and her huge labradors. They whipped up lunch in a jiff and it was time to chow. There were tons of food to choose from. I specially like the omelet and their version of chicken adobo (and i dont like chicken as much too...). The food was good, but we were so full, we couldnt finish everything. We watched an xmen episode that had the SS501 guy. We had a nice chat with them but then time flew by so quickly that we had to bid them farewell. I had to be home before dark and we werent familiar with the place. There was the possibility of getting lost so it was better if we still had the aid of the sun on our journey back home (naks.. journey!). I got home with the sun still in the sky. Thanks dudes.. for a good time..

I had to know. I couldn't help myself. So I gave into the urge and did it; I texted Tina to find out whether she arrived safely or not. Fortunately, she was already here like she said she would be. We did a rough plan to meet the next day. She texted me early and informed me with a request to change the venue. Apparently, her sense of direction was still wonky. I met up with her at around past 2 pm. I requested the meeting for Tina to meet her new househelp. We all met up at Station 168, Tina's former workplace. When everyone arrived (Uchi, Ela and Elijah), we were off to this other place. Juju restaurant. It was near Jingoge but way smaller. We all just ate but the Koreans were famished, so we had to eat as well. The food was also good, the salad, side dishes, that rice thing Tina ordered, that chicken thing and even the sweet and sour pork ( even though Bini approached the owner and gave her tips on how to make her sweet and sour taste better). Elijah found a playmate at the restaurant for the owners had a little boy. After the meal, we headed back to Station 168, for Uchi and Ela wanted to go online, mainly to download a file. Tina didn't stick around very long and left before I did. I stayed behind for a little while longer, but since my other siblings wanted to go out and I brought the only working car with me, I had to get home. At around 1745h, I arrived at home and we were off to see the movie at around 1810h. We watched "The Legend of Zorro," which I think is definitely not as good as the first one. The stunts were still impressive though there were many visible loopholes to those who know where to look and what to look for. After the movie it was off home and rest. Be happy Darkangel, All Hallow's Eve is at its peak. Happy Halloween!
